TWO men who stole from a B&Q store have been sentenced in court.
Dean Leyland, 32, and Thomas Leyland, 26, both appeared before Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 18.
In a previous hearing held on September 6, both defendants had indicated a guilty plea to a charge of theft.
They admitted to having stolen DIY items to the value of £292, belonging to B&Q, in St Helens on June 17 this year.
Before district judge James Hatton, both defendants appeared for sentencing.

Dean Leyland, of Austin Avenue, Thatto Heath, was sentenced to a 12-month community order and must carry out 160 hours of unpaid work in that period.
The 32-year-old was also made to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution of £85 and a £114 surcharge.
Meanwhile, Thomas Leyland, of Forshaw Avenue, Thatto Heath, was also given a 12-month community order and must do 120 hours of unpaid work, and also must pay £85 in costs and a £114 surcharge.
Both defendants’ guilty pleas were taken into account upon sentencing.
