POLICE have explained their presence in Sutton on Wednesday night.
Residents reported seeing a large police presence on the streets around the area of Junction Lane on October 23.
When asked about this, a Merseyside Police spokeswoman said they had been called to a report of a car being driven dangerously in the area shortly after 11pm.
Officers attended the scene and the car was recovered, she said.

The Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We were called to a report of a car driving dangerously on Junction Lane at around 11.10pm last night.
"Officers made to the scene and the car was recovered."
She added there were no arrests made and there had not been a pursuit of the vehicle.
