A WOMAN was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a teenage girl pedestrian was injured in a collision.

Police are appealing for information after a 17-year-old suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to hospital after the collision on Friday evening, October 18.

A silver Ford Focus was involved in the collision and the driver stopped at the scene.

A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has been released under investigation as inquiries continue.

Officers are asking for any witnesses, or anyone with CCTV or dash camera footage to come forward.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We are appealing for information following a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car in St Helens on Friday, October 18.

"At around 7.30pm it was reported that a 17-year-old girl had been involved in a collision with a Silver Ford Focus on Sutton Heath Road.

"The pedestrian was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.

"The driver stopped at the scene.

"A 40-year-old woman from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of drug driving. She has released under investigation.

"We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation."
