POLICE have given an update after the body of a woman was found in a field.
Numerous police vehicles and a white forensic tent were spotted at the scene in Rainhill on Sunday, with Stoney Lane and Dee Road cordoned off.
Eyewitnesses said the tent had been put up in a nearby field.
Stoney Lane was closed in both directions up to Whiston Hospital yesterday while emergency services were at the scene.
Police confirmed that their presence in the area was due to the death of a woman after they were contacted by a member of the public.
