Liverpoool band Red Rum Club will play a post-race set at Aintree Racecourse next summer.

In what is described as its 'biggest hometown show to date,' the Crosby sextet will perform on the venue's Red Rum Garden stage on Friday, May 16, 2025, as part of the Jockey Club Live concert series.

'Outdoor summer shows are our favourites'

The news follows the launch this year of Red Rum Club's fourth studio album, Western Approaches, which broke into the top 10 of the UK album charts.

The group headlined the 9,000 capacity M&S Bank Arena this year, and spent the summer on a "victory lap" around numerous UK festivals.

Blossoms are the band's current tour mates, while The Wombats will perform with Red Rum Club in the new year.

The band said: "To say we’re excited to play Aintree Racecourse is an understatement.

"Outdoor summer shows are our favourites, and where better to play than in the Red Rum Garden?

"We’ve all been to the races at Aintree over the years and it’s a fantastic day out - we can’t wait to see you all there!"

A perfect headliner

Dickon White, regional director of Jockey Club Racecourses for the north west, said: "Red Rum Club are the perfect headliner to welcome music back to Aintree Racecourse in 2025.

"Not only are they one of the most exciting homegrown acts in recent years, but to have them perform in the Red Rum Garden feels incredibly fitting!

"With tickets available from £30, which include an exhilarating evening of races, we’re proud to provide a value for money entertainment destination for Merseyside and beyond."

The event is part of the Jockey Club Live series, which sees concerts take place after racing at racecourse events across the country in an informal and open-air setting.

The series counted Busted, James Arthur, and Becky Hill among its headliners in 2024.

Tickets for RED RUM CLUB at Aintree Racecourse will go on sale at 10am this Friday (October 25) via thejockeyclublive.co.uk, with a presale available to customers at 10am on Wednesday, October 23.

Tickets are priced starting from £30 for presale, and from £35 for general sale.
