POLICE were called to reports of a serious crash on Clock Face Road last week.
With a huge downpour hitting the borough on Wednesday, October 16, police have reported that a crash took place on Clock Face Road due to a driver "not driving to the conditions".
Upon arrival, officers found that a red Range Rover had crashed into a pillar underneath the M62 bridge.
The driver was found to have suffered a leg injury that is not believed to be life changing.
No other injuries have been reported but serious damage was caused to the front and side of the car.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 4.45pm on Wednesday 16 October to reports a Range Rover had collided with a pillar under a bridge on Clock Face Road.
"The male driver suffered a leg injury."
