A SECTION of the East Lancashire Road is closed due to flooding this morning.
It follows torrential rain throughout Wednesday.
Traffic reports state the dual-carriageway is closed Westbound delays from the A58 Liverpool Road (Pewfall Traffic Lights, Haydock) to A571 Carr Mill Road (St Helens).
There are traffic queues to the A58 Stanley Bank Way and Liverpool Road as traffic queues towards the junction, reports traffic monitoring service Inrix.
The incident has been ongoing since 7am.
