PEASLEY Cross Road in St Helens has been closed at the railway bridge close to the Saints' entrance due to flooding, the council has confirmed.
Due to heavy downpours of rain throughout the day today, Wednesday, (October 16) the road, which has barriers due to being prone to flooding in the past, is to be closed.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
An amber weather warning for rain is in place until later this evening.
