CONCERNS for a man’s care have prompted an inquest.
John Joseph Beach died at his home in Runcorn the day after being discharged from hospital.
The 74-year-old, of Masseyfield Road in Brookvale, had been admitted to Whiston Hospital due to heart problems.
He was discharged on September 22 and found dead by his wife the following day.
On Wednesday (October 16), Senior Coroner for Cheshire Jacqueline Devonish formally opened an inquest into his death.
She said an inquest was required due to "concerns about his care".
An internal case review will take place on December 15 ahead of the full inquest on February 28, 2025.
