A DEVELOPMENT site, where a well known St Helens music shop once stood, is to go up for auction next week.
The building at 19 to 21 George Street formerly housed the Peter Darwin store, but it has stood vacant for a number of years.
The site is partly demolished but described by a listing on Rightmove as being a "property ripe for development".
Planning permission was granted several years ago for change of use to a restaurant and bar, plus an extension.

However, the development never went ahead.
Auction date
An online auction with Auction House North West is due to take place on October 15 and 16, with a guide price of between £60,000 and £70,000 set.
The property listing states: "The property may also suit development for other uses including residential, subject to the required consents being obtained."
The building is close to a number of other bars and eateries including The Little George Quarter, Bar Bursi and La Casa Vieja.
It is also a stone's throw from St Helens Central Railway Station.
