The full cast has been announced for an upcoming adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.
Shakespeare North Playhouse will be putting on the play, adapted by Nick Lane, from November 22 to January 5.
In this new version, Alice returns to Wonderland as a mother, with a Christmas twist.
Helen Carter, known for her roles in Boys from the Blackstuff, Love Liverpool, A Christmas Carol, and The Last Testament of Lillian Billoca, will play Alice.
Other cast members include Noah Olaoye as Card Two, Kelise Gordon-Harrison as Card Seven, Martha Godber as Card Eight, Milton Lopes also as Card Two, and understudy Tia Larsen.
In this version, the play is set against the backdrop of Prescot.
People going to see the show are invited to follow the White Rabbit to be welcomed back to Wonderland.
Director Nathan Powell said: "I am so excited to be working with Shakespeare North Playhouse and this incredible company to bring some Christmas joy with Nick's absolutely bonkers Alice in Wonderland.
"I can't wait to welcome audiences into our Wonderland and truly start the festive period."
Shakespeare North Playhouse creative director Laura Collier said: "We are thrilled to collaborate once again with writer Nick Lane, who captivated our audiences with his version of A Christmas Carol in 2022.
"The beloved and whimsical world of Wonderland will receive Nick's unique twist.
"Coupled with wonderful direction from Nathan Powell, we can't wait to see what lies beyond the rabbit hole in our version of Alice in Wonderland."
Nicole Behan will serve as associate director.
The set and costume design is by Sascha Gilmour, with original composition and lyrics by Simon Slater.
Lighting design is by KJ, and sound design is by Ernest Acquah, with Claire Bleasdale as casting director and Wendy Hesketh-Ogilvie on aerial direction.
Tickets are currently on sale on the Shakespeare North Playhouse website, with prices starting at £10.
