DRAMATIC footage has captured the sound of mimic gunfire as part of the filming of the upcoming 'Peaky Blinders' movie The Immortal Man.
Filming on the project at the former Pilkington factory on Canal Street started on Monday and takes place each night from 6pm to 4am through to Wednesday, October 16.
Residents have also reported seeing flashing lights in the sky as production work began at Canal Street, St Helens, at the former Pilkington Watson Street Works.
In the video which the Star was granted permission to share, a voice can be heard saying: "As they're coming towards you" followed by a shout of "fire" followed by sounds mimicking gunfire.
Peaky Blinders filming in St Helens tonight! Sounds rather exciting. Obvious why they warned the locals not to be alarmed by the night filming 🎥 #peakyblinders pic.twitter.com/uSVOEYLOkF

A filming crane and lighting can also be seen at the site.
The Immortal Man
Oblik Productions confirmed to the Star in September that filming for a Second World War Netflix film called The Immortal Man was to take place at the St Helens location.
An article on whats-on-netflix.com stated that the project is a 'Peaky Blinders' film.
It says that a "long-awaited Peaky Blinders movie" entitled The Immortal Man is soon heading into production and will be "set during World War II".

Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Tommy Shelby from the hit TV series.
Meanwhile, Tim Roth is also among the cast members to have been confirmed, and it was reported that Tom Hardy has signed on for the movie.
The Watson Street site, which was closed by Pilks earlier this year, has been used for a host of film and TV productions, including Marvel show the Secret Invasion.
During an announcement about Watson Street ceasing glass production earlier this year, Pilkington stated that past episodes of Peaky Blinders had used the site as a location.
A notice informing residents of the filming for the project at the St Helens location stated: "We would like to inform you that Oblik Productions are preparing for upcoming feature film called 'The Immortal man' and intend to film a series of action sequences at the Pilkington Glass Factory, on Canal Street."
Filming started yesterday and takes place each night from 6pm to 4am through to Wednesday, October 16.
The notice says that the action sequence will be "shot entirely inside of the warehouse and requires practical effects that mimic gunfire and explosions".
It adds that "all necessary precautions to ensure a safe filming process have taken place".
It said the effects will be managed by industry professionals and have been designed "to minimise any impact on the neighbourhood."
The council and emergency services have been informed, the notice added.
There has also been filming on the project elsewhere in the region, including in Liverpool city centre, where bright lighting and smoke was seen over the weekend at St George's Hall.
