The Royal Television Society (RTS) has announced the nominations for the 2024 North West Awards.

Among the nominees are viewer favourites Hollyoaks and Coronation Street, with nine nominations between them.

Brassic, starring St Helens youngster Jude Riordan, and Waterloo Road also received multiple nods.

Other nominees include supernatural drama Domino Day, filmed around Manchester's Northern Quarter, and The Responder, partly filmed in St Helens.

The Reckoning, starring Steve Coogan, also received nominations.

"Our juries and chairs have commented on the exceptional quality of entries this year."

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on November 22 at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester.

Mr Roach added: "We're also pleased to announce that this year the Pre-School Children's Category will be awarded in memory of former controller of CBeebies Kay Benbow, and that the Breakthrough Talent Award has been named after comedy legend Caroline Aherne."
