A MAN has been arrested following a reported assault this morning.
At around 7.05am on Wednesday, October 9, the emergency services were called to an incident on Windermere Avenue in Clinkham Wood.
Upon arrival, police found a man in his 30s with a small puncture wound to his leg, who was subsequently taken to hospital for an assessment of his injuries.
A 39-year-old man from St Helens was detained at the scene. He has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent and taken to a police station for questioning.
Officers remain on the scene carrying out forensic and door-to-door enquiries.

Detective Inspector Richie Shillito said: "We're keen to speak to anyone with information as we seek to establish the full circumstance. We initially believe that there were a number of people in the premises, known to each other, when the incident took place.
"If you live nearby and saw or heard anything suspicious or captured anyone in the vicinity on CCTV, dashcam or other devices, please come forward at soon as possible."
