A VEHICLE has crashed into the barrier at Haydock Island leading to road closures of the Liverpool bound carriageway.
Officers were called at 7.40pm this evening to reports of one vehicle containing one driver and four other passengers having crashed into the barrier off the motorway on the East Lancs Road.
The driver and passengers are reported by Merseyside Police to have suffered minor injuries and had been travelling from Manchester towards Liverpool.
The Liverpool bound carriageway is currently closed while police attend to the scene.
