PLANS to install three signs at a railway station have been granted permission.
Listed building consent was sought to display the signage at Rainhill station.
The station forms part of the historically significant Liverpool to Manchester railway line.
One of the proposed signs will be 1440mm x 950mm and will be attached to the railings on the Station Road entrance to the station
Another will be 1440mm x 950mm and will be attached to the fencing at the level access point close to Victoria Road.
Meanwhile, the third will be 1440mm x 865mm and located on the fence adjacent to the access point from Tasker Terrace.

Planning officer Julie Hine said in a report: "The signs would be similar to the appearance of existing signage at the station and are common modern day features at historic railway stations.
"The signs would be installed on modern railings and so would not impact the historic fabric of the listed building. Therefore, there would not be any harm caused to the significance of the listed building."
Consent for their installation was granted.
