POLICE have charged a woman with causing the death of a Pilkington worker by careless driving.



On Friday, December 1 last year, David Burrows, 59, was riding a pedal bike on Islands Brow, close to its junction with Hinckley Road, when he was struck by a vehicle and injured.
 
David was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly died of his injuries.

Anya Foster, 32, of Gloucester Street, Parr, has now been charged with two counts of causing death by careless driving while over the prescribed limit for two separate controlled substances. 

As the Star had reported, Foster had previously been charged with a driving whilst unfit, driving over the prescribed limit for drugs, failing to stop after a collision and failing to report a collision.

A man arrested in connection with the investigation was released and no further action will be taken against him.

Foster was due to appear at Liverpool, St Helens & Knowsley Magistrates Court today, Thursday, October 3.
