ST HELENS Council has given an update on St Helens Cemetery following flooding earlier this week due to torrential rain.
The heavy downpours on Monday led to flooding at St Helens Cemetery and Crematorium.
Access to the Book of Remembrance Chapel and to the Memorial Garden was affected, the council said.
In an update today, Thursday, the local authority said works have been undertaken to clear pathways and areas affected by the flooding.

In a statement, St Helens Borough Council said: "While the grounds at St Helens Cemetery continue to dry out following the recent heavy downpours, our team has been hard at working scrubbing and clearing paths, making all areas of this cherished space accessible again.
"Maintenance of the cemetery as a peaceful and accessible place where people can go to remember their loved ones is incredibly important to us and we apologise for any inconvenience caused in recent days."
