A MUM-OF-THREE'S one-woman salon has been shortlisted in a first-of-its-kind awards ceremony.

With previous experience as an advanced massage therapist, Kelly Larkin capitalised on the extra time she had during the pandemic to develop her passion for beauty treatments.

Although the mum-of-three was initially studying to become a qualified counsellor before covid, her passion for beauty snowballed into Kelly launching her first salon suite along Nutgrove Road in 2021.

Described as a "little haven where clients enjoy a range of beauty treatments in a serene setting" Ariella Louise Training & Salon has been growing from strength to strength since its inception and was recently shortlisted in the first-ever North England Hair & Beauty Awards ceremony in November.

Offering personal one-on-one appointments, Kelly offers a range of beauty services at Ariella, including beauty and nails services, permanent makeup, skin rejuvenation, as well as massage treatments and tattoo removals.

To further expand the business, Kelly is also planning to offer beauty training courses to teach the next generation of beauticians with her personal approach.

Many clients are said to regularly return for their exclusive 'me time' at Ariella, and there is frequent praise for the salon's welcoming atmosphere and quality of treatments.

With a long list of returning clients, Kelly said this support has been instrumental in her salon's success and recognition within the hair and beauty industry.

"This year has been incredible for my salon suite, and it’s all thanks to the wonderful support from my clients and everyone who believes in what I do. Honestly, without you all, I wouldn’t be here.

"As a one-person salon therapist, it’s just me and my clients, and I love that my little salon is being recognised as one of the best in the North.

"If you had told me three years ago that I’d be up for such a prestigious award, I wouldn’t have believed it! But now I see that all the hard work, determination, and the amazing relationships I’ve built have truly paid off."
