ST HELENS Council has given an update on roads affected by flooding following the heavy downpours on Monday.

Peasley Cross Lane, an area commonly affected by floods due to the dip in the road under the old railway line bridge, was closed yesterday.

The road remained closed into today and has been reopened this afternoon, Tuesday.

One driver was reported by police after their vehicle got stuck in the water at Peasley Cross Lane.

Meanwhile, the council confirmed that College Street is closed due to flooding.

Businesses in the area remain open as usual.
