In a statement, St Helens Borough Council said: "As a result of persistent heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours, access to the Book of Remembrance Chapel and Memorial Garden at St Helens Cemetery and Crematorium is currently restricted but still accessible, with staff on hand to guide visitors through the best route if required.
"Maintenance of the cemetery as a peaceful and accessible space where people can go to remember their loved ones is incredibly important to us and we apologise for any inconvenience this flooding has caused."
Meanwhile, Peasley Cross Lane remains closed due to flooding following the downpours.
