A DRIVER has been reported after their vehicle got stuck in flooded water in St Helens.
Over the years, Peasley Cross Lane has been a hotspot for floods due to the dip in the road under the old railway line bridge.
During storms or periods of heavy rain, barriers and road closures are often installed near the Totally Wicked Stadium to prevent drivers from travelling through the deceptively dangerous stretch of road.
However, there have been several episodes when vehicles have got stuck in the water over the years, with fire crews sent out to rescue some of these drivers.
There was another episode of this on Monday, September 30, with a Land Rover getting stuck in the flooded water along Peasley Cross Lane.
Although this episode did not require the fire service to rescue those in the vehicle, firefighters and Merseyside Police were called to assist in the situation.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the driver has been reported for ignoring the road closure and barriers.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was in attendance at an incident on Peasley Cross Lane, St Helens, yesterday evening (Monday, 30 September).
"Crews were alerted at 6.44pm and on scene within five minutes. On arrival, firefighters found one vehicle stuck in approximately two feet of water with the driver already out of the vehicle.
"The vehicle was moved to shallower water. The incident was left with Merseyside Police and MFRS departed the scene at 7.17pm."
The driver of this #LandRover decided to ignore the road closure barriers on a flooded road, thinking their vehicle could swim. The vehicle proved otherwise. Remember - the barriers and closures are there for a reason. Driver reported. #SafetyFirst pic.twitter.com/CmoAtvdZHo
