A ST HELENS singer who has grabbed the attention of will.i.am achieved a long-held dream to perform on The Voice.
A huge fan of the Voice since he was around five years old, Matty Scott's long-awaited performance on the ITV talent show was broadcast on Saturday, September 28.
Despite his nerves, the 20-year-old's amazing rendition of Heartbreak Anniversary had the Manchester crowd up on their feet and resulted in will.i.am turning his seat around in the dying seconds, to ensure he will work with the former St Cuthberts High pupil.
With social media also going wild for the local lad, who proudly boasted of coming from a "little town called St Helens", Matty said that the performance was the "best day of my life - so far."

With the 'blind audition' recorded back in March, Matty said it was a surreal experience to watch the performance back - particularly as he is currently in the Mediterranean working as part of a cruise liner's on-board entertainment.
Matty, from Parr, said: "Watching the performance back was pretty weird to be honest, because although I knew what was going to happen, I didn't know it was going to do this well.
"It does feel a little bit like imposter syndrome watching yourself back, but it feels good!
"I've wanted to go on the Voice ever since I was around five or six, and I've had so many messages from people since it was on TV, from teachers and people from school who I haven't spoken to for years, because they knew this was my dream."
Ecstatic that it was will.i.am who turned his chair around, a clip of Matty's performance and euphoric celebrations have already rocked up more than 50,000 views on YouTube.
Following some further guidance from vocal coaches and the former Black Eyed Peas frontman, Matty's next performance has already been recorded and is set to be broadcast on Saturday, October 12.
And while the St Helens singer could not give much away, he has high hopes for his time in the competition and as a full-time performer.
