A ST HELENS staffer has recently celebrated four decades of service at M&S.
In 1983, Sam Lynch joined M&S as a school leaver via the Youth Training Scheme at St Helens and has since worked across four different stores, including nearby Stockton Heath, before returning recently to St Helens Ravenhead as a Team Manager.
During her time at the reailer, Sam has worked across several departments including menswear before moving to the food hall, her favourite section.
To celebrate her time with the company, Sam recently travelled to London to join 41 other M&S colleagues similarly celebrating milestone anniversaries with the business, ranging from 25 to 50 years.
Colleagues were joined by M&S CEO Stuart Machin, who thanked them for their dedication and service to M&S.

Sam Lynch, Team Manager at M&S St Helens Ravenhead, said: “I can’t believe it’s been over 40 years since I joined the M&S family, time really has flown by! It’s really special to have recently returned to St Helens Ravenhead which is where I first started out and I have such amazing memories from over the years.
"I even took on a charity mud run with my previous Store Manager! I’m lucky to have made brilliant friends while working here and as a Team Manager, you’re always focused on delivering the best experience for customers.
"Over 40 years later, it still is the best feeling when you help customers and when we bring that touch of M&S magic to them with brand-new products – the run up to Christmas is always my favourite time in-store!”
Michael Collins, Store Manager at M&S St Helens Ravenhead, added: “It’s great to have Sam back in the team! And what good timing as she celebrates such an amazing achievement. A massive congratulations on behalf of everyone at the store!”
