ST HELENS' high street has suffered another setback, with the closure of an outdoor clothing shop earlier this month.
The GO Outdoors shop on Church Street departed the town centre after nearly two years.
It had moved inside the old Millets premises on Church Street in November 2022.
It was a number of Go Express stores launched across the North West, with the shops designed as compact and convenient high street stores.
However, the shutters are now up on the store, with adverts directing people to its Wigan branch.
It represents a disappointing setback for Church Square Shopping Centre, which has been boasting high occupancy rates since a host of stores relocated from the Hardshaw Centre.
Town centre retail, especially clothing, continues to face pressures from online sales and shops on retail parks.
