A STREET party featuring brass band music and performers will be held in St Helens town centre on Saturday afternoon (September 28).
The Sun Street Social is to mark the launch of the The Street and a Half Project in Haydock Street, near the George Street quarter.
The former Catapult building, which runs up Haydock Street and round the corner onto Bickerstaffe Street in St Helens town centre, has been renamed the 'Street and a Half' building (SnA) and is the culmination of almost two years of work.
With the council collaborating with 'Kindred LCR' as well as local partners and socially-trading organisations (STOs), the building will develop a new offer for the social business sector to support and increase the growth across the borough.
Saturday's event - noon to 5:30pm - takes place at the The Street and a Half building on Haydock Street/Bickerstaffe Street, St Helens (WA10 1DD).
What's on
Starting at 12pm, families will see St Helens' Valley Brass Band open the event before the ribbon cutting and tours of the building.
Inside visitors find will the art exhibition 'Emergences', put together by Platform Arts, which showcases local talent imagining what St Helens could look like with a connected community of ideas.
The event will also see DJ and an immersive AV and lighting show, while food and drink will be served from Clara's Classics Ltd. There’ll also be face painting for the kids alongside fun, interactive workshops.
Drummers Katumba will aim to end the event by putting on a spectacular show.
