A BOY has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car this morning, Monday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after a collision in Whiston earlier today.
Residents had reported seeing police in the area of Stoney Lane blocking off the road.
When asked about this, Merseyside Police confirmed that an 11-year-old boy pedestrian had been injured in a collision, involving a Honda Civic.
A spokesman said the boy was taken to hospital for assessment to a leg injury.
Police added that the driver of the Honda Civic stopped at the scene.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that emergency services were in Whiston following a road traffic collision this morning, Monday 23 September.
"At 8.15am, we were called to a collision involving a Honda Civic and an 11-year-old boy pedestrian. The boy was taken to hospital for assessment of a leg injury.
"The road was reopened at around 9.15am."
