HERE are some of the community events taking place across St Helens in the next fortnight.

Hospitals AGM

THE Annual General Meeting of Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust will be held later this month.

The meeting will be on Friday, September 27 at 12.30pm, in the Nightingale House Lecture Theatre at Whiston Hospital.

Chairman Richard Fraser and chief executive Ann Marr OBE will present the 2023-24 Annual Reports and Accounts, which will be available on the trust’s website MerseyWestLancs.nhs.uk following the meeting.

The chief executive’s presentation will also be filmed and uploaded to the trust website.

Couch to 5K

A 10-WEEK couch to 5k programme starts at Sutton Leisure Centre later this month.

Starting on Monday, September 23, the sessions run on Mondays and Wednesdays between 6 and 7pm.

The programme is for people who want to gradually build up to the distance through walking or jogging.

The cost is £16 for the 10 weeks, with children welcome to attend with adults.

Man club

A WALK and Talk with Andy’s Man Club will take place at Carr Mill Dam on Sunday, October 13, from 2pm.

Saints show

A NEW exhibition is coming to The World Of Glass – and it’s a treat for Saints fans.

It’s an exhibition made up of a series of framed images and memorabilia encapsulating the heritage of St Helens RFC in the 150th anniversary year of their first match in 1874.

In a statement, the museum on Chalon Way said: “Feel the pride and passion of those who play and support the mighty team who wear red vee.”

The exhibition is open to Saturday, October 26.

Concert time

ST HELENS Sinfonietta will host a concert on Saturday, September 21 at Ormskirk Street United Reformed Church in St Helens.

The event starts at 7.30pm, with tickets priced £13, £12 for members and £1 for under-16s.

Musicians will perform jazz standards from the Great American Songbook, including songs by the Gershwin brothers, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin.

Coffee morning

THE Together groupis hosting a Macmillan Coffee morning at Ormskirk Street United Reformed Church (King Street, St Helens) on Thursday, September 26. 

The event will take place between 10am and noon.
