Traffic is heavy and one lane has been closed due to a collision on the M62 in Birchwood.
The incident took place this morning, Friday, along the eastbound side of the carriageway between junction 11, Birchwood Way and junction 12, Eccles Interchange.
One lane has been closed to allow emergency services and recovery services to attend the scene of the crash.
Congestion is building along the carriageway.
National Highways predicts the incident to be clear by 10am.
