A MAN was arrested after police swooped on a stolen vehicle.
A police presence was seen on Knowsley Road, Eccleston, on Wednesday afternoon, September 18, in the area of the Black Bull pub car park.
When asked about this by the Star, a police spokeswoman said that officers had found a stolen vehicle after receiving a report of a theft.
A 42-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle without a licence, and using a motor vehicle without insurance.
The suspect has since been released on bail.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "A man was arrested following a report of a theft of a motor vehicle in St Helens yesterday, Wednesday, September 18.
"Officers attended and located the stolen vehicle on Knowsley Road.
"A 42-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle without a licence, and using a motor vehicle without insurance.
"He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries."
