AN APPLICATION to turn a property into a house of multiple occupation (HMO), has been ruled on.
A bid for a certificate of lawfulness for the change of use of a home to a five-person HMO, on Harris Street, in Dentons Green, was sent to the council.
The applicants were named on the council planning portal as 'GG-375-187 LIMITED' and planning agents AM Architectural Studios Ltd drew up the application.
A certificate of lawfulness is a means of obtaining a decision from a planning authority that a proposed use or works do not require planning permission.
An application for stated: "The proposal consists of a change of use from C3 Use class to C4 use class.
"All work will be internal work, and no extensions/external work will be carried out."

It added: "The existing property was a C3 use class property, and we intend to convert it into a C4 use class property and use it as a HMO.
"The property will house five bedrooms, and will be occupied by five unrelated individuals."
The application was granted by the local authority.
In a report, planning officer Alex Ball said: "The Local Planning Authority are satisfied that the proposed change of use of the existing dwellinghouse under Class C3 to a small HMO under Class C4 at the application site would constitute as permitted development and would not require planning permission, providing it is not occupied by more than six residents at any one time.
"A Certificate of Lawfulness can therefore be granted."
