A FAMILY who turned their living room into a makeshift restaurant are expanding the project to bring this experience to other homes.

As previously reported by the Star, Stu Snell and Tizi Manfredi launched 'ATHOME' with "everything [they've] got" last September, after an admittedly "half-hearted attempt" during the pandemic didn't work out.

With the couple boasting years of experience in the hospitality and catering industry, and Stu being well trained in fine dining, the 'ATHOME' events have been described as "more of a story than a set cuisine", with each unique dish explained and based on the couple's experiences.

Hosted in an intimate setting that caters up to eight people, the monthly events have been so popular that guests often return or book weeks in advance, so the couple has decided to expand the project further and take 'ATHOME' to other homes.

With the success of the events at Stu and Tizi's Newton home encouraging them to expand the project further, they settled on the idea after testing the experience at homes in York and Altrincham, and receiving rave reviews.

Aiming to keep the atmosphere and uniqueness of 'ATHOME' at its heart, Stu and Tizi will provide the table setting in new homes and will continue to set the personal menu and talk guests through each dish.

The couple will also continue to collaborate with popular Newton business Riddling Rack to accompany each dish with a perfect wine or cocktail.

Mum-of-two Tizi said: "The past year has been amazing and we are getting more and more people coming to the 'ATHOME' events, and those who keep returning to us, so we want to expand and bring this experience to other people's homes.

"We see the idea as if people are ordering a private chef or caterer to their home, but we want to push people out of their comfort zone a bit.

"We also don't want to lose the atmosphere of 'ATHOME' so we will continue to explain the story of the dishes and ask guests to trust us.

"Guests don't have to worry about hosting or cooking, they can just relax and let us host the experience."

With long-term plans to open their own restaurant, Stu and Tizi are planning to offer the 'ATHOME at Your Home' events once a month, which runs similarly to their own home events. More information can be found here.
