DETECTIVES are appealing for information following a supermarket burglary in Parr.
At around 4.05am, Merseyside Police officers were called to Morrisons on Fleet Lane, Parr to reports of access being gained and cash and cigarettes being stolen.
The incident forced the supermarket into closure throughout Sunday, with a police presence and scientific support teams noticed by residents.
Officers forensically recovered a silver Ford Transit minivan at the scene, and are now carrying out CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries.
The Force is appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to come forward.

Detective Inspector Richard Shillito said: "We are following a number of lines of enquiry to identify those involved and put them before the courts.
“If you saw this vehicle in the area shortly before 4am or live locally and can check CCTV, dashcam or other devices, please let us know. The smallest detail could prove vital evidence so let us make that assessment.”
