WHICH pub in St Helens is top of the shots, king of the pumps or queen of the wine?
Where do you go for a quick drink after work or to meet family and friends at the weekend?
Is there one pub that is better than the rest and deserves to be crowned Best Pub in St Helens?
In the latest instalment of our Best of 2024 competition, pubs will be taking centre stage and we want to know which establishment should make our shortlist.
We’ve already given out 20 awards so far in St Helens for hair, nails and beauty, tattoos and independent shops, as well as pizza, dessert and cocktails and many more.
Voting is currently taking place to find St Helens’ Best Café or Coffee Shop, with the vote closing at midnight on Sunday, September 15.

This week it’s pubs and bars.
Tell us which of the town’s establishments should make our shortlist and then the overall winner will be decided by you, our readers.
Which is your favourite pub or bar?
HOW IT WORKS:
Each Friday morning we will reveal new categories via our social media pages and ask you who is the best. Nominations will then close each Monday morning at 12pm.
Every Thursday we will publish a shortlist of finalists with voting officially opening.
You will be able to vote in one of three ways:
- By commenting under the relevant post on our St Helens Star Facebook or X (Twitter) pages = 1 vote
- By entering via the online article on our St Helens Star website = 2 votes
- By entering via our St Helens Star newspaper = 5 votes
Voting closes at midnight each Sunday.
The following Wednesday evening we will announce the winner of that category on social media.
Usual Newsquest competition rules apply.

Don’t forget to keep an eye on our website and our social media each Friday morning, when we will launch a new Best of 2024 search and then every Thursday to vote for your favourite from our shortlist.
