ST HELENS was ranked as the cheapest local authority area in Merseyside for rent prices so far in 2024, according to a nee report.
A new report listed local authorities in the region based on their average price to rent so far this year.
With constant inflation rises, the opportunity for first time buyers to get a mortgage offer that is affordable and reasonable has become even more difficult.
This is leaving people turning to the rent market for property.
In the wake of this, BLG Development Finance and Online Marketing Surgery have created their Rent Report, which helped rank areas in Merseyside based on their average rent price so far this year.
This determined the "best and worst" areas to rent.

Key findings included St Helens being the cheapest rent price average so far this year with £672 per month.
Meanwhile, the highest rent prices are in Sefton with £804 per month.
