IF you have been putting your summer clothes away looking ahead to the autumn, then you may want to have re-think before the end of the week.
While the weather has been wet and miserable for parts of the past week, the sunshine is due to return to St Helens on Friday and the weekend.
Indeed, Met Office forecasts suggests we could see temperatures of 25C on Friday afternoon.
Saturday will be a little cooler, but still dry and in the low 20s, while Sunday should also be fine but with temperatures just below 20C.
The sunshine will be welcome for St Helens ahead of a weekend of events, which includes the Reminsice Festival in Sherdley Park and various Heritage Festival celebrations across St Helens.
It also promises to give a boost hospitality businesses who have been hit by mixed weather over the summer months.
