SOME lanes have reopened on the M6 after a serious crash resulted in lengthy delays.
As reported yesterday (Friday, August 30), a collision occurred shortly after 2pm on the M6 between junction 27 at Standish and junction 28 at Leyland.
Lancashire Police confirmed that the incident was due to an "overturned lorry", with the lorry, a campervan, and a car all believed to have been involved in the crash.
The motorway was closed in both directions which caused long delays.
A spokesperson said that seven people were injured in the incident, which are not believed to be life threatening.
With emergency services working through the night, two lanes of southbound traffic and two lanes of northbound traffic were opened on the M6 earlier this morning.
Delays are still expected throughout the day as emergency works continue.
