AN 80-YEAR-OLD man has decided to take part in an abseil to mark his landmark birthday all in aid of Willowbrook Hospice.
Len McGrail – who is still in the best of health – decided to take part in the Anfield Abseil on September 22 with all fundraised cash going to Willowbrook Hospice.
He said: “I’m in a fortunate situation that I feel well and despite having a heart bypass 18 years ago it helped me to prioritise looking after myself and I feel really well and able to take this on.
“I like to do everything I can to help when I can and I decided that I’d do it for Willowbrook as I know so many people who have had support and help there.
“Many of my friends and relatives living in the St Helens area all give positive feedback on the services they provide and I’d like to do everything I can for them.”
