THOUSANDS of music fans will head to the Reminisce Festival in St Helens again this year - with the show's growth having cemented it as one of the borough's biggest events.

The event - from noon to 11pm - returns to Sherdley Park on Saturday, September 7.

Now in its 10th year, the festival has got bigger year-on-year and has a capacity of more than 20,000, with crowds flocking to watch a line-up of 'old sckool' dance and nineties pop.

Parts of the park are taken over by a series of huge tents, which house the acts and DJs. These are put up in the week building up to the show.

The one-day show is unpopular with some residents living nearby, who are unhappy that Sherdley is taken up by the event and that there is a huge influx of visitors to the park, which is across the road from residential estates.

However, it has proven a major hit among music fans across the region and nation, while there are locals who stress that it is only a one-day event and that it attracts big numbers to St Helens.

Among this year's acts will be One and Only Singer Chesney Hawkes, with the likes of K-Klass  Damage, Rozalla and Five due to perform.

There will be a host of international DJs performing, with more than 100 acts on the bill.
