A BAND will get to experience a “dream come true” as they hit the stage at Saints tomorrow.

Indoor Shoes will be performing at the Totally Wicked Stadium ahead of Saints’ match against Hull KR on Saturday afternoon.

It marks the biggest gig for the three-year-old group so far who have been building a repertoire of songs.

Band member and lifelong Saints fan Tommy Fairclough says it will be a special day for the group.

His affiliation with his beloved Saints began from the tender age of four, following in the footsteps of both his grandads, avid Saints fans since the 1960s, who recalled Tom Van Vollenhoven as their hero.

Tommy grew up watching the team at Knowsley Road with his sister, cousins and grandads at his favoured spot on the wall in ‘the Paddock’.

One of Tommy's grandads has since passed away and he said telling his other grandfather he was to play a gig at Saints' stadium was a proud moment.

Indoor Shoes have also released their latest three-song EP Remember The Pier to coincide with the occasion.

“We’re all made up, our EP came out today (Friday), we’ve released it at the same time,” said Tommy, who grew up near North Road.

“It is coming up to three years (for Indoor Shoes) now. It is our biggest gig yet, it’s a proud moment.”

Tommy said their songs centre on northern working class culture, with one of the tracks on their latest EP called Blackpool Lights.

Indoor Shoes consists of Tommy and fellow members singer Evan, drummer Sean and Dom on bass.

They recently played a festival in Wigan and had a sold-out gig at Heebie Jeebies bar in Liverpool.

“To be able to play St Helens is great, it is like a bit of a homecoming gig,” said Tommy, 28, who writes the songs along with Evan.

“I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous, going from 100 or 200 people to a stadium of fans, but I’m mostly excited about what it could do for us.”

“It’s crazy, especially to be able to tell my grandad I was playing Saints.”

Indoor Shoes will hit the stage at around 2.10pm and will perform a mix of songs from the new EP and their earlier material.
