A MAN has been charged in connection with a crash between a car and a police vehicle in which an officer was injured.
Emergency services attended reports of the collision, which happened on North Road, St Helens, on the night of November 26 last year.
The crash involved a black Volkswagen Passat and a marked police car, which was responding to an emergency incident.
The crash happened at about 9.30pm and led to a huge presence of police and emergency crews being called to the scene.
The patrol car had reportedly struck a garden wall, midway up North Road, during the incident.
The driver of the Volkswagen was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not life-threatening.
Meanwhile, the police officer suffered a serious arm injury.
