A WOMAN pedestrian suffered a head injury after being hit by a car near to Whiston Hospital.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision, which took place on Friday evening, August 16.
At around 7.20pm officers received a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a black Fiat Punto on Warrington Road, near to the hospital.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 30s from Liverpool, sustained a head injury which police say is not life-threatening.
A spokeswoman added that the driver is assisting officers with their inquiries.
A road closure was in place after the collision, which was lifted a short time later.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We would appeal to anybody who may have witnessed to the collision or has CCTV or dash camera footage which would help with the investigation to please come forward.
