A TEAM from Dogs Trust Merseyside took advantage of the dry weather and blue skies to give rescue dogs a day out – in the hope that their dreams come true.
Ten-year-old terrier Dusty, 12-year-old crossbreed Jay and six-year-old greyhound Theo, along with lurcher Tyson, also six, headed off together to visit Dream, the 20-metre high sculpture, in Sutton Manor.
The artwork, created by Jaume Plensa in 2009, which features a girl’s head in a dream-like state, at the former Sutton Colliery site, is a well-known landmark in the town.
Clare Rooney, one of the Dogs Trust team that joined the canine companions for the special trip, said: “Our dogs love going for walks off site. We often take them to the beach, but we decided to do something different this time and we felt ‘Dream’ was the ideal place to take them. And they loved it!

“They had a great time exploring the woodlands and we had a rest and time to relax at the base of the sculpture.
"The sculpture is an emblem of hope for what the future may bring, and we hope that the future is bright for all of our dogs.
"We are also pretty certain they dream of being loved and looked after by new forever families, so it is the perfect place for us to take them and have a good time whilst they wait for that day to arrive.”
