Detective Inspector Jimmy Rotheram said: “This is obviously very distressing for the people whose properties were affected and it is lucky that nobody was inured or killed because of the reckless behaviour of the two individuals.

“We believe the two males have ridden into Lathum Close on a motorcycle and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw the males or the bikes in the area either before or after the incident.

“I would ask anyone with dashcam or doorbell camera footage in the area to check it to see if they captured anything significant and contact us as a matter of urgency.”

Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 24000698750.
