A MAN from St Helens who ran a county lines drugs operation has been jailed for four years.
Daniel Birmingham, 38, of Kidstone Close, St Helens pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs (heroin and cocaine) at Liverpool Crown Court and was sentenced to four years on Thursday, August 8.
Birmingham was arrested on Tuesday, June 11 and subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine.
Detectives from Merseyside’s Project Medusa established that Birmingham was the controller of a drugs line supplying drugs in the St Helens area.
Project Medusa is the Merseyside-led initiative to tackle County Lines drug dealing and child criminal exploitation across the country.
Detective Sergeant Gerard Farley said: “Through our investigation, we were able to prove that Birmingham was controlling a drugs line in the St Helens area. We are pleased to get this sentence and show our commitment to bringing individuals involved in county lines to justice.
“We are constantly working to take drugs off the streets. If you have any information that could help us target drug dealing where you live, please report it to us directly or Crimestoppers anonymously.”
