ALTHOUGH St Helens' newest takeaway has only been open for a matter of weeks, its owner says that "every customer has come back".

Working in the catering industry for decades, Hayley Whiley has developed a popular reputation when serving friends, families, and special events.

After testing different cuisines and developing her style, the mum-of-two needed a unit to house her growing business, and after 12 months of market research, she admitted that St Helens "really caught [her] eye".

Launching Hungry House on Barrow Street in mid-July, Hayley described the takeaway's name as something quite literal, as she feels it is important that the business offers something for all the family.

With Hayley working alongside her two daughters, this is why the takeaway has such a large menu, from cooked breakfasts, wraps, and toasties, to sandwiches, pasta pots, and noodle dishes.

With plans to open late in the evenings, there will also be curries, burgers, rice boxes, and salt and pepper meals on offer, all with a 'make your own' option to personalise your order.

Hayley, from Liverpool, said: "I got the 'Hungry House' idea from my family, because there's always so many different orders when we are ordering a takeaway, and I sometimes have to go to different places.

"That's why it is important to have a real variation of options in one place, and we offer something for everyone in the family.

"I feel it is important that why we have the make-your-own options too, so people can easily choose their own meal or go for a healthier option."

Although Hayley admitted she has struggled to attract lots of custom off the street, she said the customers she has had have all returned due to the quality of her food.

"Every customer that we have had so far has come back in because our food has an unbelievable taste", Hayley added.

"That's because I've worked in the industry for so long and we make everything fresh throughout the day.

"People have made me feel really welcome in St Helens so far, and for anyone who hasn't tried us yet, you won't be disappointed."

While Hayley is still waiting for signage to be installed and online deliveries to be set up, Hungry House is open from Monday to Saturday from 8 to 10pm.
