A MAN who had a knife on him in public will be sentenced by a Crown Court judge.
Michael Lavelle, appeared before Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court.
Lavelle, 52, pleaded guilty to possession of a knife blade in a public place.
The defendant, of Horridge Avenue, Newton-le-Willows, had a red-handled Stanley type knife on him in a public place on September 12 last year.
After he pleaded guilty on July 4, he was due to be sentenced on July 30.
However, the case was committed to Liverpool Crown Court for sentencing.
Lavelle was given unconditional bail and will be sentenced on Tuesday, August 27 at the higher court.
