A NEW court date has been set for a man who was charged by police after officers were involved in a seven-hour stand-off with a man at a flat last month.
Armed police attended the area of Liverpool Road and Glover Street, in St Helens, at around 9am on Tuesday, July 2, after reports of a "man repeatedly making threats".
There was a stand-off involving a man at a property and police which lasted for seven hours, with police cordons in place during the incident.
A suspect was arrested in the afternoon at around 4pm.
Police confirmed that Carl Lee, 44, was charged with making threats to kill and affray in connection with the incident.

Lee, of Liverpool Road, St Helens, appeared at Wirral Magistrates' Court last month and was due to appear before Liverpool Crown Court to enter his pleas yesterday.
However, the plea and trial preparation hearing was adjourned until Monday, September 16.
Lee has been remanded back into custody until then.
