PROPOSALS for a portal frame rear extension to an existing factory unit in Bold have been given the green light.
A planning application for the work at the site at 1 Reginald Road Industrial Park, on Brindley Road, has been approved, subject to conditions.
According to the officer report, the site is surrounded by industrial units of “various sizes, ages and styles”.

It added: “The unit consists of two storey and single storey building, with a service yard to the front, side, and rear, which is enclosed by palisade fencing.
“The unit is currently occupied by ‘C&O Powder Coating Ltd’.
“The building is currently used as a factory facility for powder coating of metal architectural products. There is an electricity sub-station positioned adjacent to the proposed extension.
“This application seeks planning permission for a single storey extension to an existing building.
“The new extension has a rectangle shape with a dual pitch roof with an eaves height of 5.2m, ridge height of 7.3m, with a width of 41.6m and a depth of 13.4m. The proposed extension would provide an additional 536sqm of B2 accommodation.”
