POLICE attended a town centre bank after reports that an elderly woman had cash stolen from her close to a cashpoint.
Officers were called to Santander, on Bridge Street, in St Helens, on Wednesday afternoon, July 31, shortly before 12.30pm.
A police spokesman said they had received reports of a theft of cash from an elderly woman, near to a cashpoint.

The Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We were called to Santander on Bridge Street at around 12.25pm on Wednesday, July 31, to reports of a theft of cash from an elderly woman, reportedly close to a cashpoint.
"An investigation is underway and anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact us @MerPolCC with reference 432 of July 31."
No further details of the incident have been disclosed at this stage.
